About: Peterborough City Hospital

I spent several weeks on A10 and the care I received was as usual excellent. The staff are very but try and answer bells quickly, are very friendly and professional. The medical team visited regularly to keep me updated regarding my treatment and tests.

The staff tried their best to reassure me during this particularly difficult admission and make my stay as pleasant as it could be.

The only 2 negatives were that I was surprised by the number of agency staff required, which increased the workload for the usual staff. And the majority of catering/hostess staff on this ward are sullen and rude. I could count on one hand the number of times they smiled or made basic greetings during the many weeks of my stay.

Thank you for your kind comments about Ward A10. I can advise that currently we are reviewing and decreasing the amount of agency staff that we are using so in the longer term this situation should improve as we are able to recruit substantively into nursing posts

I have passed your comments on regarding the ward hostess to the staff who manage that area so that this can be followed up.
