"You saved my life!"

About: Glenfield Hospital

On April 9th I was given my life back by the incredible people at Glenfield. I had a quintuple coronary bypass at the age of 49. My registrar was/is one of the most incredible human beings I have ever met. The ICU nurses were my guardian angels in the 72 hours after the op. The staff who brought my food was fantastic. No one was more delighted than they were when after 3 days I actually managed a full meal. I have a wife and four children who were depending on Glenfield to give them back their Dad/ Husband. These people go to work everyday and save people's lives. Whether they are a surgeon, doctor, nurse, cleaner, caterer, auxiliary etc., they are all vital cogs in the life saving machine. I want to say thank you in so many ways that I cannot begin to convey. When I was taken Ill I was training to do a half marathon in memory of my Mother who died of a heart attack on 2014. Such was the success of my operation I have now entered to do the Derby 10k on April 17th 2016, 1 year and 2 days since my discharge from Glenfield. All proceeds will be to the British Heart Foundation whose work has facilitated the refinement of the procedures and skills, so wonderfully applied by the staff at Glenfield, that saved my life. If you want to help me to help others and to say thank you please log on to my just giving page and give as much or as little as you can.

I just wish I could do more to say thank you. x
