(as a parent/guardian),

My 1 year old son fell off a step onto a tiled floor and bumped his head quite badly. I called 999 and the operator was so calm and reassuring.

The ambulance was with us within about 10 minutes and the paramedics were great with my little boy. Steve, who was in the back of the ambulance with us, made my son smile, which meant that my son was relaxed enough to let Steve monitor him.

When we got to the hospital, we were taken to the A&E children's waiting room, which was spotlessly clean, and a doctor saw us quickly. The doctor was very thorough and pleasant. He gave me just the right amount of information that I knew what to look out for over the next 48 hours, without overwhelming me.

I was on my way home less than and hour and ten minutes after my son fell, which was amazingly fast.

I can't praise the professionalism of North West Ambulance Service and the A&E at Macclesfield Hospital enough.
