"Appointment cancelled on the day shortly after..."

About: Barnet General Hospital

My husband had waited over 6 months for his appointment.

He received his appointment in September.

After spending 2 days on a restricted diet and nothing to eat or drink since 9.00pm the previous evening , his appointment on 14 Dec 2015 was cancelled shortly after his arrival at the hospital.

He was told that the appointment was made in error and that the equipment from the department where he was due to have his tests carried out was being dismantled there and then to be transferred to Chase Farm hospital.

He has been given no follow up information on what to do next other than he can complain.

I am writing this on his behalf as I am so disgusted with the contempt that has been shown to him.

Why on earth couldn't someone have phoned or written to let him know not to waste his time in showing up?
