"Care after discharge"

About: Queen's Hospital (Romford)

My husband was discharged from hospital on 23rd November. He has a catheter fitted.

On his discharged papers it states that he will be getting a follow up letter from the oncology department and the urology dept.

So far he has had appointments with the oncology department but has not heard anything from the urology department.

He is receiving visits from the district nurses.

However, he is having a problem with the catheter and when I approached the nurses to see if they could change the catheter, we are told that the first change should be done by the hospital but since we have heard nothing from the hospital since his discharge, who do we approach to get this sorted.

Any help you can give me would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Thank you for taking the time to make us aware of your husband’s experience. I am concerned to hear that your husband has not received any follow up appointment and care from our urology service and I want to make sure this is resolved. Please contact our PALS team on 01708 435 454, or by email PALS@bhrhospitals.nhs.uk.

Yours sincerely

Dr Nadeem Moghal

Medical Director
