I arrived at A&E on the evening on the 26th November 2015 with a broken leg. I recieved prompt and excellent service and had a swift X-ray and pot after recieving very strong painkillers (I apologise to the staff for screaming the ward down). They also did a brilliant job of looking after my wife, who was by my side all the time. I was admitted to the ward in the early hours after being transferred from A&E. At 06:30hrs, only fours hours after being admitted I was seen by a consultant and advised on the necessary surgery. I signed a concent form. I was seen by the consultants and surgeons at 10:30hrs and went down for surgery at 13:00hrs. I consider this to be a fantastic turnaround and consider myself lucky to receive such fantastic and prompt treatment. I was back on the ward at 17:00hrs with a pin in my Tibia on the road to recovery! The staff were excellent, providing me with the necessary pain killers and fetching me what was needed. My wife was staying in a nearby travel lodge as we lived over two hours away (The accident had happened while we were on holiday) The staff were happy to let my wife visit when she wanted due to the circumstances. Physiotherapists had me up and walking on crutches, up and down the stairs within four days and I was discharged to go home. I would like to say a big thankyou to all the people that were involved in my care at the hospital. My faith in the NHS, in particular Luton and Dunstable Hospital has been restored. Thankyou very much.
