"Admission via Accident and Emergency to Lowen ward"

About: Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske)

My husband was admitted via the accident and emergency unit 4 weeks ago today, where he was diagnosed with a DVT and Cancer.

The staff in ED were so amazing especially the doctor.

They really took the time to explain everything to us and were very sensitive and kind.

It was an incredibly stressful and upsetting time but we really felt in good hands with all the different doctors and nurses we met along the way. The doctor urology and the Nurse specialist to name a few.

My husband was admitted to Lowen ward where he received excellent care from all the amazing nursing staff, healthcare workers and physiotherapists.

All the staff we have encountered along the way have been great.

Its a shame the NHS insists upon selling out to private companies as Mitie is the only area we are not impressed with.

The food was pretty terrible, not at all the type of food that people need when recovering from any illness.

It is so salty, minimal vegetables no fresh vegetables.

Dry unappealing food lacking in any kind of nutrients.

Also the cleanliness of the hospital as a whole is pretty shocking in the main corridors and in the wards.

Not good enough! The weekend cleaner on Lowen ward should be commended for their high standards as they did more than any of the other cleaners all week.

Not to say that the week ones did anything wrong.
