To say I was nervous was an understatement! But right from the initial interview with the nurse through to the actual procedure I was put at ease by the staff.
I chose to have the numbing spray as opposed to the full sedative and was pleased that I did. The actual procedure is uncomfortable rather than painful, and I was made comfortable by the staff that were involved even when I panicked a little when the endoscope first went down.
Keep calm and breathe deeply was the advice from the nurse, and it worked a treat. I was even aware enough to be shown around my stomach by the Doctor on their screen.
If you are booked in for one of these procedures, please rest assured that they are not as bad as you may first think, and this comes from a self confessed wuss when it comes to anything medical! Don't get as wound up as I did before hand as it was over in a matter of minutes, and if it finds ut what's wrong, it's a small price to pay!
