"111 service was very good"

About: South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust / NHS 111

(as the patient),

I was feeling unwell yesterday, my husband called 111 for advice. Unfortunately he could not get through and put the phone down, however someone called back immediately and sent an ambulance round.

Fortunately it was not serious, I had a reaction to medicine prescribed by my GP. The paramedics, Nicci and her assistant, were very professional, very kind and extremely thorough. They did a number of tests, wrote up their results and left these with me, this was all very reassuring. They stayed with me until they were satisfies that I would be OK but also said we should call if there were any anxieties during the night.

We were both very pleased and grateful for the service they provided – my husband was impressed that they kept him informed about everything they were doing, even letting him know the ambulance had arrived!

Hi Paris586

Thank you for providing us with feedback about our service. I hope you are feeling better.

It's always rewarding to hear positive patient experiences. We would be very happy to share your comments with the ambulance staff involved in your care. However, in order to do this we need a little more specific information. If you would like us to do this, may I ask you to contact our Patient Engagement team on either plaudits@swast.nhs.uk or 01392 453831 and a member of the team will help you further.

Thank you, again, for taking the time to share your story.

Sara
