"Archway Centre"

About: Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust / Psychotherapy

(as the patient),

I have the same problems as a previous patient. I found the Archway Centre very emabarrasing to go to - the shop across from it calls it the loony bin and the people in the shop watch patients going in and out and make rude comments. I also found it very noisy - you can hear traffic, peoples foot steps, horns, chatter going on continually from out side which prevented me from fully being able to take part in my treatment.

When I was in the waiting room numerous patients were saying the same thing so it seems to be a common problem.

I was told when I first went that I was only allowed six sessions for my OCD and that was all I got .I now have to go privately for continuing treatment as six sessions was just not enough.

Surely treatment should not be rationed? Why should I now have to pay to get the help I need - I should be allowed to get treated until I am better. Even the professional I was seeing said I needed to be seen for longer but she wasn't allowed to offer me more appointments because it would effect the waiting lists.

There are clearly a number of issues that you have raised in relation to your own individual experience of our service. We would welcome the opportunity of having a meeting with you so that you can provide us with more information as we are always keen to address any concerns at service level directly with our service users. The Team Leader at The Archway would be more than happy to hear your experiences and identify any steps we may take to support you. If you telephone The Archway Centre on 01522 340160, we can make the necessary arrangements

Update posted by eilie (the patient)

I have now phoned twice and no-one has got back to me. My present therapist has now told me that this is causing me stress which is interfering with my treatment and I must close the issue so I can move on with my treatment so I will be making no further attempts to contact your trust.

I note that in your latest news magazine you praise the Archway Centre and extol the virtues of its location to the extent of placing a second clinic in a similar location. It seems that the trust are not interested in what their patients' opinions are anyway.

I am sorry you have not been able to raise your concerns directly with the staff at The Archway Centre; we are unable to trace any messages being received about this matter, however, will fully respect your wishes to close the matter.

If, however, you change your mind you can contact us by phone, e-mail, letter or via our website http://www.lpt.nhs.uk
