"Excellent treatment, although long wait..."

About: Bridgwater Community Hospital

I had the misfortune to require treatment for a eye injury on the morning of Wed Dec the 9th.

I have to say that the nurse who carried out the treatment was excellent both with the care and advice with regards to my recovery!

On the downside i did have to wait nearly 3 hours, but all the staff i saw certainly appeared to be working flat out, and cannot be held responsible for lack of staff due to financial restraints imposed by a goverment who seem hell bent on destroying the NHS.

So could future patients who read this bear this in mind and be patient!

Thank you for sharing your positive experience of Bridgwater MIU during your recent visit to the unit. Our Trust is very proud of the hard work that all Somerset Partnership staff achieve, and the managers for MIU services will be very happy to cascade your comments to the team. Usually our waiting times are relatively short with an average of 20 minutes however in peak times they can go up to around 2 hours as it is a 'sit and wait' service with no appointment times. The national guidelines for waiting times is four hours, so although, you had to wait for nearly three hours, well within these guidelines. May I also take this opportunity to wish you a speedy recovery, and if the PALS service can be of any assistance to you in the future, please do not hesitate to contact the team on 01278 432022’ or email us at pals@sompar.nhs.uk
