"This place is filthy"

Visited a relative here last night and I can't believe what a filthy place it is. When walking to get to B8, I saw numerous bags of rubbish piled up in the entrance to buildings. This was at 6 and they were even bigger at 7.30. Public areas are a disgrace. The corridor and day room on B8 has litter strewn around the place, stained furniture, food trodden into the carpets and is ridiculously hot. It looks like it hasn't had a decent clean in months.

It's no wonder my aunt picked up an infection straight after surgery. I genuinely pity anyone who has to stay or visit here. Can't comment on the medical care but the cleanliness is a disgrace and staff pretty surly.

The odd thing is, children aren't allowed on the ward, allegedly to prevent them from getting an infection. I think that's pretty much assured if they need to walk through the hospital of if you let them venture into that day room! I couldn't wait to get home to shower.
