"Extremely intimidating treatment"

During my current 6 month of pregnancy I have been extremely dissatisfied with Kings college hospital services on purely human level. They have repeatedly made me feel as a "number" in their waste system whose only purpose is to serve their either individual promotion or promotion of their several research studies. I as a human being, my baby or our well being have always been unimportant as long as the research studies are pushed through and necessary promotions in place.

For example, in my first 12th week scan appointment I was met by 3 doctors who during my hour long examination constantly competed among themselves... As a result I felt extremely intimidated and exposed, instead of being able to establish a relationship of trust with a doctor and being able to comfortably ask the questions about my pregnancy and the test results.

Furthermore, from the very beginning the head of the team used his authority to impose the agenda of their research studies upon me - he made me sign papers where I agree for my data being used for research purposes at the most intimidating time - when I was lying on the examination desk. He actually said - nobody will know it is you, you are just a number! With three male doctors imposing their authority upon me in my most vulnerable state I felt trapped to agree to anything.

Afterwards I proved to fall into a potential risk group for pre-eclampsia. Kings College hospital is currently doing a research study on the subject. Nobody cared to explain me what this condition actually means, what dangers are there for me or my baby, what shall I do to prevent any risks. Instead I was explained extensively that I should take part in their research study and what should I do...that involved taking aspirin or placebo tablets for their research. Since I am very sensitive and therefore cautious about the medicine I take during my pregnancy, I refused to take part simply for a research. Then the head of the team called in somebody else to try to convince me again... Since then I keep receiving phone calls about my potential change of mind and today I received a call by a nice member of NHS staff informing me that they have a new questionnaire about the pre-eclampsia condition with questions like - am I stressed about the risks of this condition, does it influence my everyday life? etc.

Needless to say, there have never been a question asked about how do I feel about the condition or my pregnancy in principal and how they could perhaps help me with information or support. Instead, I am increasingly intimidated into agreeing to their agenda that doesn't concern neither me or my baby's wellbeing. I am made feel that I am a convenient number to push through and justify their research and individual promotions.

I understand that it is beneficial to use test results for research and am not opposing that in any way. I complain about the treatment and bullying I have experienced since my very first appointment.
