"Gastro Outpatient"

About: The Whittington Hospital

I had an appointment today, although there was a small wait before i was seen (i work in a GP surgery and therefore know how hard it can be to run to time) i was able to get everything all done in one appointment. I was seen by a nurse specialist, they then referred me for a further test at a later date. But said as i was there i could go and get a blood test and book in my up-coming procedure. I not only had my blood test, booked a procedure in a few weeks but a helpful membr of staff in the Day Treatment Center reception suggested that i wait another 5 minutes so a nurse could give me, and explain, the medication i would need closer to the time.

I came out of the hospital feeling satisfied and informed about my care.

My only criticism would be at the blood clinic the phlebotomist was not very friendly and did not warn me that they were putting the needle in my arm. They promptly turned around when they were done and dismissed me. Their attitude fell short of the lovely attitudes the rest of the staff had there and that was a shame.
