"Thorough and professional"

About: Grantham & District Hospital

My aunt, was brought in to A&E after passing out at home in Grantham while on the phone to my sister in London, who phoned me when my aunt remained unresponsive but she could hear her breathing. .

I live in Warwickshire and my 999 call was transferred to the Grantham area ambulance service. As my aunt lives alone, has a history of occasional blackouts and had a heart attack several years ago, my sister and I and our other aunt were all extremely concerned. Having contacted the A&E nursing station, both my sister and I were asked relevant questions and given detailed information. The nurse in charge phoned me later in the afternoon to give me my aunt's test results and to tell me they were keeping her in overnight and the reasons for that.

Thanks from all the family for caring and professional handling by a busy department of what must have been rather a difficult case, as my aunt had been brought in unaccompanied with no-one on hand to give ambulance crew or A&E staff any information.
