"Thank you to St George's Hospital"

About: St George's Hospital (Tooting) (London)

Our little boy was born at St George's in September and we were amazed at the quality of service provided to us by the staff. Like lots of birth stories, ours had complications along the way, but I am pleased to say that the staff dealt with them kindly, professionally and quickly and our son arrived safely.

During the delivery the team of midwives, anaesthetists, paediatricians and obstetricians were outstanding. What we were most impressed with was how well informed we were throughout our visit. At every point the staff explained what they needed to do and why, and offered us constant reassurance along the way, and in a calm manner, which is very important when you are exhausted and in pain. I did not come across one member of staff who didn't seem to care wholeheartedly about the care they were providing. They were excellent. We are especially grateful to our midwife who stayed an extra three hours beyond the end of their shift to ensure we didn't have to change midwives for the actual delivery, it went a long way beyond the call of duty.

Thank you to all the staff, we will not forget what a positive impact you all had on the delivery of our little boy, we feel very lucky to have such a brilliant hospital in our area.

Congratulations on the birth of your son. Thank you very much for taking the time to post your feedback about your experience at St George's Hospital. Your comments about the staff who cared for you during your admission will be sent to the managers of the service.

It is a pleasure to read your comments and they will also be sent to the Midwife.
