The care my son received last night in Paediatric A&E last was faultless. He had a potential surgical emergency and was seen without delay every step of the way.
The nurse who triaged my son said we would be seen quickly due the nature of his symptoms and he was. The final year medical student & Registrar saw him promptly and carefully explained the next steps.
The male nurse who then spent quite a lot of time with us was fabulous and put my son at ease by creating a quick rapport with him. The surgical team and anaesthetist quickly prepared him for theatre acknowledging my concerns over his long term condition.
Fortunately the consultant examined just before he was about to go into Theatre and decided he didn't need surgery. Everyone we came into contact last night was professional, caring, friendly and efficient. As a healthcare professional myself I know we don't always get it right but it is important to highlight when we do so thank you to everyone who helped us last night, you were all fantastic and should be very proud of yourselves.
