"Out patient visit and Orthotics"

About: Cheltenham General Hospital

I visted on 7th December as a follow up to an A & E visit the previous week to check a damaged vertabrae.

The xray showed a possible fracture so went for an immedaite CT scan which confirmed this.

Concern was to make sure this did not deteriorate and they wanted to adnit me until a brace could be fitted or, worse case scenario, an operation.

I was very upset but staff comforted me and took the time to explain everything and give reassurance.

Very fortunately the consultant had a clinic that afternoon and after reviewing the scans said a brace would be sufficient.

Came back the next day for this and a member of staff fitted it and I was leaving the unit before the schedule appointment time!

All round excellent service.

Hi there,

Thank you so much for sharing this feedback with us. It's good to hear you were so well looked after during your visit to A&E and subsequent outpatient appointment and we will pass your comments on to the departments and staff involved.

Best wishes The team at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
