"Worse hospital ever"

About: Manchester Royal Infirmary

Third time around and it's like we're being ignored. First when I gave birth was told to come in for inducement at a set time and I want seen to until 3 days later!!!!

Second when baby had urine infection and sent us home saying she's fine. How ridiculous! And then fam member went A&E for abdominal pain (appendix) and kept her waiting over 2 days saying she will be scanned and still no sign.

This hospital doesn't care less about you and I won't reccomend it to anyone. They always short of staff and excuse is Theres no bed available.

Response from Patient Experience Team, Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to learn that your experience was not as positive as we would hope in Saint Mary’s Hospital. It is important to us that comments are heard and seen as an opportunity provided to the service to make changes and improvements wherever possible.

In response to your comment, the maternity unit staff are aware that there are sometimes delays for women who are waiting for their labour to be induced. I can tell you that we have been reviewing our Induction of Labour pathway as we do appreciate how distressing this is and we are planning some changes which we expect will deliver improvements for women in the future. These changes may take a little time to implement but please be assured the team are working to make this part of our service better.

It is difficult to respond to all the posts in a full way often because of a lack of detailed information, therefore if you would like to discuss the care of your daughter with us in more detail, please feel free to contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service on 0161 276 8686 or by e-mailing pals@cmft.nhs.uk
