"Ear department receptionist"

The receptionist I usually speak to in the ear department is efficient, kind and helpful, a real treasure, however, if she is away I have found some of the other staff the opposite. On Monday 23rd November I visited the department, the receptionist was away on a course, I saw the consultant who told me she needed to see me in one months time. A member of staff informed me that the "computer was down" and that I would be sent a letter stating my new appointment. After two weeks waiting I thought that I had better ring to see what was happening. Fortunately the usual receptionist was there to answer my call and was able to help me. The other staff member had made me an appointment for Wednesday 6th January (two and a half weeks after I needed to be seen) on a day when the consultant I needed to see was not working and forgot to let me know!

It makes me grateful for the wonderful service that I receive on a normal basis and sad to think that, because of some unhelpful staff, all this could be lost.
