"Another visit to A&E"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus

A few months ago I wrote a review after visiting the Emergency Department with my Step dad.

I was concerned about the lack of consideration my Mum was given during this difficult time.

Unfortunately we had to visit again last night but the experience was so much better.

The paramedics were wonderful.

They took the time to explain to me and my mum exactly what was happening and what shouldn't happen.

My mum was given a chair to sit on (hurrah) and on 2 occasions different staff asked if we were OK or needed anything.

This may seem trivial but when you are scared tired and worried these small kindnesses really do help.

Thank you.

Thank you. I’m very pleased to hear that this time things were much better and that your mother was well looked after by the staff during your stepfather’s admission. You are absolutely right that it is very often the little things that matter most to patients. Your message is a timely reminder to us all.

My best wishes to you and your family, Lucy Thow Emergency Department Matron
