"Good Service - Shame about the welcome"

About: Royal Berkshire Hospital

Visited the clinic recently. A great service, opening 7-7 weekdays is really great. I attended early in the day 7am and waited just 30mins before being seen. The nurse/medical team were so friendly and explained everything as and when needed.

I do feel however the front of house member of staff on reception was rather abrupt, as the first person in the department a hello or good morning would have been nice. I was simply handed a clip board, no communication whatsoever and started to fill it in. Not great... The overwhelming feeling I got from the reception was that of monotony of their job with little or no caring.

This made me rather nervous, I felt like a nuance. Thankfully the medical time made my visit much better

The matron for the area has passed your experience back to the team leader, who will personally ensure that the way that patients are greeted in the department is reviewed. We are pleased to hear that the nursing and medical team provided you with a good service and the matron will ensure that this is also fed back.
