"Surgery ward 16"

About: The Royal Victoria Infirmary

I cannot rate highly enough the treatment I received from high dependancy and ward 16 only one member of staff let down the 100 percent rating I give ward 16 sad that one member lets you down and didn't respect my dignity. but that aside the care I received was second to none.

However as for the chaplaincy they receive no star rating from me. Bedside communion on a sunday I sat waiting and nothing and yes they had been informed I was in . The hospital is outstandingly clean and staff friendly meals were ok. The discharge procedure very good I felt involved In desicions about treatment. The technician in the mri scan centre was very calming as I was worried about the mri they made the whole procedure seem it took only a few minutes

Well done and thank you

Thank you for taking the time to post your feedback on NHS Choices following your recent admission to the High Dependency Unit and Ward 16 Neurosurgery at the Royal Victoria Infirmary. We greatly value feedback from our patients, which helps us to continue to improve the care that we provide. Staff constantly strive to deliver the best possible care and treatment to all patients requiring our services and we are very pleased to hear that we largely met your expectations. We are very pleased that you felt involved in the decisions about your treatment and that staff in the Neuroradiology department treated you in a calming manner that helped to allay your worries.

We would wish to apologise for the conduct of the member of staff who did not respect your dignity. We take your comment very seriously and would be keen to investigate your concerns and provide you with a more detailed response and ensure we address this issue, if you would be willing to contact Paula Coulson Matron Neurosciences on 0191 2336161 that would be very much appreciated. We will also pass on your concerns about the lack of contact from our chaplaincy colleagues during your stay so they can review their procedures and ensure all patients who wish to participate in Sunday worship are enabled to do this.

We have shared your kind comments with all staff involved in your care, including our colleagues in hotel services, all staff greatly appreciate your supportive comments.
