"The Delays involved"

About: Inclusion Matters Wirral

(as the patient),

I was referred to Inclusion Matters Wirral in June of this year when I completed an ‘on-line-questionnaire’.

I then completed an initial ‘gateway’ telephone-assessment in July – which was basically the ‘online-questionnaire again. I was told I might have to wait some months for a Practitioner unless I was prepared to settle for a student. I declined the offer as I felt my case was too severe.

I then heard nothing from IM in spite of several phone calls to them inquiring about progress.

I then received an “Outcome of Initial Assessment” letter from dated September – exactly two months after the telephone assessment, copied to my GP telling me what I had told you in July!

Since this letter I have telephoned IMW every two weeks asking for progress toward an appointment with a qualified practitioner. Each and every time I have been told that someone will contact me about “the list”: each and every time this has not happened.

My final attempt to reach somebody was last week when I telephone again and spoke with someone. I tried to explain all of the above and after my delivery they told me – quite abruptly I thought – that the person who deals with “the list” was not at their desk but that they “would get them to ring me when they returned”.

Needless to say – there was no call. There was no message left and there was no email. In fact – there continues to be no contact whatsoever from IMW.
