"Forest Ward, Lings Bar Hospital"

I broke my femur, right leg for the second time. Went to the Queen's Medical Centre for operation and came to Lings Bar Hospital after a few days for rehabilitaiton.

I would like to pay tribute to all the staff with whom I came into contact for their unfailing kindness, courtesy, helpfulness, understanding and humour - no matter how perverse and difficult we patients became at times. This takes tremendous strength of character. I have unlimited admiration for the great job they do. Long may they reign! ! ! We all need to have touched people like this in our lives, no matter how briefly. It can only add something positive to to what is usually an accidental and unwelcome beginning. I shall soon be back at home and recuperating well, thanks to all the care I have received. I shall never forget all the people I met at Lings Bar Hospital and will be able to think back in retrospect with great affection for the time I spent there.
