I encountered a painful eye condition on Saturday morning and by 10.30am the Unit had advised me that the approximate waiting time would be 1 hour. I arrived and was seen more or less immediately by an efficient assessment Nurse. I was then seen by an experienced practice Nurse and who immediately carried out eyesight tests and subequently obtained a prescription from the Doctor on Duty, all in all, in and out in less than one hour! I was hightly impressed. Today I telehoned for a referral to the Eye clinic and the member of staff immediately printed me out a referral from the practice nurse's notes for an Appointment in the eye clinic tomorrow. Again, I was most impressed.
