originally I was keen to have my surgery at the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle based on the care received by my father and its proximity to my home. However after talking with my consultant at Sunderland Royal I was persuaded that the James Cook would be a good choice. I cannot fault in anyway the care I received at the James Cook my surgeon kept me informed both before and after the operation, the care in the HDU after my operation was exceptional as it was on ward 31 from where I was discharged. It is now 4 weeks since my surgery, (I was discharged after 5days) and am making a good recovery in my opinion. Thank you to all the staff at the James Cook Hospital for the care I received
