"Struggling to get an appointment for my 1yr old son"

About: Kirklees PCT

(as a relative),

At the surgery that me, my partner, and our 3 young sons are currently registered they have a procedure called morning surgery which starts at 8.30-10.30. Between those hours, you can attend the surgery without an appointment and just wait to be seen. To be seen fairly soon your best gettin to the surgery at 8.30-there is always a queue. If you get there between 10.00/10.30, you could still be sat waiting to be seen at 11.30.

I, as a mum of 3 young boys dont find this service very helpful, as I struggle to get there between those times.

My 1year old is ill, i rang the surgery at 8.30, and explained my son was ill, and i couldn't get to morning surgery, so could i quickly speak to a doctor for some advice.

The receptionist told me the doctor would ring me after morning surgery between 12.00 and 12.30. At 1.00 i hadn't had my phonecall, so i rang back. The receptionist told me to ring back in 20mins. I rung back and the receptionist told me she had made a note of it in the doctor' book, and they would ring me back. At 3.00 i was still waiting for my phonecall, so i rung back. The receptionist then told me that the doctor was now out on their afternoon visits. So i said i want to make an appointment today for my son to see a Doctor. The receptionist then said she would need to speak to the Doctor to see if an appointment was available.

I'm absolutely disgusted with how the surgery is run. I feel they are unhelpful and un-interested in my son's well being. It is now 4.00pm an i'm STILL waiting for the doctor to ring me!
