About: University Hospital Of Wales / Neurosurgery

(as a parent/guardian),

I have been waiting two months for my daughters EEG results and although they are on the hospital system no one will tell me what they are. My daughter started fitting in Aug, finally she got seen in Oct and we are still none the wiser. I have asked the gp they have heard nothing, I ask the staff in the heath they can see the results but are not allowed to tell me and the Dr who can tell me is never available and never returns my calls! !

We are sorry to hear that you have had difficulty in obtaining the results of your daughters EEG and this is clearly not acceptable. All results are sent back to the clinician who requests the test. It is usual practice for the Neurophysiology Department to do this within 5-7 working days of the test being undertaken.Unfortunately the receptionist or the technical staff within the department are not able to give out results over the telephone but we do appreciate how frustrating this must be. Please contact the Neurosciences Department on 02920745260 and we resolve this for you ASAP.

I got the health minister involved and they have me her results over the phone within 24 hours!
