"a visit to Accident and Emergency Dept."

About: East Surrey Hospital / Accident and emergency London Ambulance Service NHS Trust

(as a relative),

My wife fell on the escalator at our Hotel at Gatwick South and cut her head. at about 9. 30 pm. She was bleeding profusely and an ambulance was called. It arrived in about 15 minutes and after examination it was decided that she should go to hospital. The ambulance crew were very efficient ad pleasant we were taken into A&E staff were very pleasant and thorough. After examination it was decided that she needed stitches and her head was X-rayed. Whilst the department was busy it seemed to me that everything was dealt with in a most pleasant manner. We were discharged at sometime after 2am and again there was an efficient system available to enable us to hire a taxi to return our hotel.

The doctors and nurses we saw were brilliant! !

Dear Charles1234

I am glad your experience starting with the ambulance treatment, ED care and treatment and subsequent discharge was a positive experience. I will share this with the ED team who work very hard to provide a service 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

I trust your wife is now recovering from her injury.

regards

Nicola Shopland
