"security are not the police"

About: Medway Maritime Hospital

During the consultation we were interrupted the door opening to reveal a security guard . I was alarmed and turned in my seat. They stood in the doorway and although distressed, I asked them why they were attending my appointment .Their stance was aggressive and they entered the room.

I stated they did not have any right to attend my consultant appointment as patients have the right to confidentiality, especially where personal sensitive data is being discussed (DPA). I asked them to leave. They refused to leave. They then stood in the open doorway leaning diagonally blocking the exit so they could listen to the conversation. Their intention was to cause alarm and distress. I asked for the police to be called, as they had no lawful reason to be involved in the patient consultation. They questioning my reasoning for wanting the police to be called. I repeated my request to them to leave .This was again was refused by the security guard. They began verbally arguing in a very aggressive manner.

As the door was open other patients were outside and could hear what was going on.
