"Patient in day surgery ward 40"

About: Pinderfields General Hospital

From the moment of arrival at 7am at the ward reception, I was impressed with the receptionists friendly and informative approach, giving me all the information I needed for my stay in Pinderfields and their ability to deal with objectionable and impatient people who came in.

The care and concern of the appointed nurse who dealt with my initial consultations was helpful and reassuring.

The anaesthetist and consultant were very reassuring and professional, giving me a full explanation of the procedures, relaxing me, as I have always found undergoing medical procedures a little traumatic.

The relaxing chat with the theatre nurse as we walked along to the theatre, and her and the anaesthetists handling of me in the pre- op room of theatre 12.

The cheery smile and reassurance of my nurse in the recovery ward as I came out of my general anaesthetic. I felt fantastic.

Then lastly my care by the nurse who took me through my last procedures, and giving me my discharge information.

Having been to Pinderfields on several occasions with friends, and myself as patients. I have always been impressed with how well this modern building is planned, from it s spacious foyer to easy access to wards. The circular path of progress through the day surgery ward. Very good. A very insightful day of observing staff and patients. I can only give praise to the staff I encountered in how they dealt with it all, you deserve to be properly valued.
