"Colonoscopy"

About: Bradford Royal Infirmary

I have recently had a colonoscopy and I know that some people sail through the procedure with no complications, I have to say that I found it excruciatingly painful. There were further complications with bleeding, and I can only say that if anyone told me I had to have another one, they would have to do a different procedure. I would flatly refuse to have the same thing done to me again, it was the most painful thing I have ever experienced in my life.

Hello, first of I must apologise for the delay in replying - there has been a problem with the site notifying us when someone posts a review, which we have just become aware of. We do value all comments from our patients and take them seriously, and I am concerned that this procedure has caused you so much distress. I would like to invite you to contact us so that we can investigate this fully, as we would not want any patient to put off having tests that could be very important because of a previous painful experience.

If you would like to discuss this further the patient experience manager would be happy to discuss this with you.

The number to contact is 01274364810.

If you call when the office is closed or no-one is available to take your call, please do leave your name and number and we will call you back as soon as possible. In the meantime I will pass your comments on to the Unit.

Thank you.
