What I liked
My Grandmother was taken ill while on holiday in Torquay and was admitted to Torbay hospital. It quickly became apparent that there were underlaying health complications and her condition quickly got worse. Myself and the rest of the family were able to spend the little time she had left with her and she passed away earlier this week.
Throughout the whole time she was in the hospital she was treated with the utmost care and respect. Her family were also treated with genuine care and nothing was too much trouble, from the simple act of providing tea and coffee for us, to sitting down and explaining everything in great detail to everyone.
Myself and other family members have experience of other hospitals around the country and I can honestly say that no hospital comes close to the level of cleanliness here as well as the warmth of all members of staff, not just the nurses and doctors.
What could have been a truly horrific experience for all of us was made easier because of the thoughfulness and caring of the staff.
What could be improved
Absolutely nothing - even the food in the canteen was lovely.
Anything else?
The cleanliness of the hospital and the caring nature of the people that work there are something that all other hospitals should be striving for.
