"delay in recieving treatment"

About: Sussex Eye Hospital

Surprise surprise. After waiting almost 11 months for treatment i wrote a dissparaging report and within just two weeks i recieved an appointment. Sadly the Consultant didn;t seem to be able to read my record. They asked why i had left it so long to come into the Hospital. This after 5 visits dating back to December 2014 as well as phone call and letter. I have now been told that despite my condition making driving impossible and my eye getting worse, I have to wait a further three months. I think this is absolutly appaling .R.Hale

Dear Mr Hale

Thank you for raising this issue. I have been in discussion with the management team in the Eye Hospital and I can only apologise for the dreadful miscommunication that has led to your delays. I understand that you are now on the urgent list for treatment.

Once again I am sorry, as is the team involved in your care. If there is anything further I can do to help, please do contact me.

Best wishes

Caroline Davies
