I recently encountered a lot of pain over a weekend recently however I felt I knew what it was and went straight to the local GP on the Monday morning. She prescribed me a course of antibiotics and told me if the pain got worse to go straight to A&E. I knew it wouldn't get any better so went straight to Borders General Hospital (BGH) A&E they had a look and prescribed me an IV Antibiotic and sent me home to see if that would work and was told to come back the next day, which I did. The A&E doctor had one look at it and decided I needed surgery and she admitted me to Ward 7. From there the surgeon came to see me and told me what was going to happen and when. So on the Tuesday night, I was taken along to theatre... A student nurse called Joanne accompanied me along and was a very pleasant young lady and was very reassuring.
I woke up in the recovery room where once again the staff were great!
I spent the night in hospital and the night staff made sure I was comfortable overnight.
The ward nurse Tracy came back in the morning and was brilliant with me and the rest of the patients.
Overall a brilliant hospital and brilliant staff... Please pass on my thanks to Ward 7 and A&E.
"Great service at Borders General Hospital"
