"Making matters worse!"

About: Broomfield Hospital

I had to attend the eye clinic today for a problem related to my left eye. It is a problem I have had a number of years and usually I have no difficulties being given eye drops and then I leave. Today however I saw a doctor I have not met before and feel that while checking my eye pressure that they pushed the implement in too far in my right eye. It was very uncomfortable for the hour I had to wait to get my prescription and 4 hours later I called the hospital concerned as it was still uncomfortable and feeling gritty but more concerning was the fact that my eyesight has been affected. I could read perfectly well with that eye previously. I spoke to the on call nurse and who relayed my concerns to the doctor and whose response was that the drops can cause grittiness "but I do not have drops for the right eye!" I responded. The doctor said if it doesn't settle down go to see you GP ( who doesn't have the equipment for looking at the eye) or go to see your optician and if they don't help you can always call back here!
