"Knee untreated"

About: Diana, Princess Of Wales Hospital

(as the patient),

I recently left work with a bad swelling to my knee, I booked in to see Dr and was referred to a nurse at a different location, the nurse had a quick look and said I need an xray, 2 weeks later my appointment for the xray was and on this day I was told to contact Dr in 7 to 10 days for results, that's nearly a month since the original injury. As within this period I was not offered no treatment at all and never did see my Dr at all, I now phoned Dr again and explained this to the desk and they replied that they carnt do anything until results come through so I am to carry on asking go into week 5 without any treatment for pain relief. Is the correct procedure? If I would of gone to A/E I would of been treated more directly thankyou

Hello, if you are under the care of your GP then you'll need to contact the GP surgery for information; if you're under the care of a hospital consultant then you can contact our patient advice and liaison team on 01472 875403.

Many thanks, Sarah Mainprize

Update posted by Cmc123 (the patient)

Still waiting for xray results, phoned Dr's everyday, asked for advice 3 times but told by receptionist at Dr that nothing can be done until results are forwarded to the reception computer, and to phone back every other day as I am doing now.

I have now used all of my saved holidays to try and beat this swelling as there's no sickness policy at my employment and with Christmas so near I cannot take paid time of work as I will get no help from anyone at all as there is no system ongoing for my situation.

just fingers crossed that I can sort a day out to see the Dr when my results come.

I never thought the system was that bad but I guess there's people worse then me with injuries waiting

thanks
