I would like to put on record how grateful I am to the doctor who looked after my dad today at his outpatients appointment,
My dad is 84 and for a variety of reasons had to attend his outpatients appointment on his own. I sent an email to the clinic asking if someone could ring me after dad had been seen to explain how he was and what was happening with his health. I know outpatients clinic are incredibly busy and was not sure if I would be contacted today. The doctor rang me whilst they were with my dad, they explained he had received and read my email and was calling to update me on dads condition. This was incredibly reassuring and I know it would have made dad feel better to know we were in full receipt of information about his health.
I would like to thank the doctor for ringing me as I had requested, it meant a great deal to know how well dad was doing as I felt bad about not going with him.
I would also like to thank the member of staff who was really helpful when I phoned and suggested emailing re my questions about dad and said they would pass this on which they clearly dad.
The NHS is under tremendous pressure and most staff do the work of 2 people.
Thanks very much
