What I liked

Not much how ever it would be unfair if i tarred all employees in the hospital with the same brush as the majority of them.There were a select few staff who where passionate and caring but unfortunately like i say only a select few i came across in my 2 week stay.(most of whom were the cleaners)

What could be improved

Cleanliness was poor; i visited the toilet to be greeted with bedpans full of blood on more than one occasion, i was left in the same bed linen 2days after haemorrhaging also my blood was left on the floor it may not have been a risk to me but could of been to there staff and my family who visited.Communication between consultants was non existent.I was given conflicting opinions daily.I had a catheter and was in pain every time i was man handled i made it clear i was in pain but this had no effect on the nurse it was made clear i was a burden.I was left to struggle my way to the ward toilet taking my drip along with me after not walking for over a week whilst being over looked by several members of staff deep in there social conversations.I could go on and on........

My experience at this hospital has left me afraid of seeking professional help from this hospital and we have used Norwich hospital ever since it is considerably further away but i feel it is run so much more efficiently. I am a 21 year old women and was left feeling vulnerable and uncared for.Also to add my partners Mother went in for a hip operation which was successful however the after care was appalling being left on a ward not trained to look after hip op patients she was left slumped in a chair by an open window;she ended up getting pneumonia and passing away with little apology or explanation!!However my Father used the hospital this year using Private healthcare and he could not of praised it enough it begs me to question do we have to pay for the care we should all be entitled to as taxpayers or do we have to pay twice for real healthcare!!!!
