"i am a new mum at forty one and ..."

About: William Harvey Hospital (Ashford)

(as the patient),

What I liked

i am a new mum at forty one and i found the whole experience at the william harvey hopital upsetting and i hope and pray i never get ill and end up there. We had our daughter in the early hours of the morning by cessearean section and up until then everything was ok and as soon as we were back on the ward (within 1 minute) the baby was taken from my parner and he was ordered to leave, because i had to remain in recoverey for 15 minutes that night, we never even had ONE minute of privacy together after the birth, the lady next to me was told not to ring her buzzer again or she would get a slapped leg, so she cried all night. my food was left too far away to reach so i did not eat, medical issues were disscussed in front of family, when i ask for pain relief less than 20 hours after my op i was asked where is the pain? i could go on and on. A far cry from canterbury hopsital where i had stayed for 4 nights the year before. When you have just had a baby you are in a daze and i never spoke out and thats not like me but now i feel angry.

What could be improved

staff should care about their patients
