"Successful surgery for haemorrhoids"

About: Royal Bolton Hospital / General surgery

(as the patient),

I needed surgery for haemorrhoids and a rectal prolapse. My initial surgery in May was unsuccessful, and my second surgery was cancelled after completing the bowel. My third attempt, I had to wait over 12 hours for the operation. I was starved with no IV fluids to prepare me for the operation. The ward care and the theatre care was very good. TTO's arrived promptly therefore there was no delay in my discharge.

Although you have mixed views of your time in hospital we are pleased that overall your care was good. We hope you are making a good recovery.
