"My son's experience with the paediatric department."

About: Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary / Paediatrics

(as a parent/guardian),

My 1 year old son was admitted electively for a sleep study. He had been suffering from severe reflux and had difficulty with sleep. While on ward 15, he was looked after really well. The ward was busy and as my son had difficulty falling and staying asleep for this study, we were moved to a quieter area so that he could get some rest and the sleep study would then be useful. The staff on Ward 15, especially Vicky, Liz and Linda were helpful and friendly. I had a great experience on this ward with my son and daughter on previous ocassions as well and am grateful to all the staff who have looked after them.

Hi, sorry for the delay in replying to your lovely feedback. I am glad that your son managed to have his procedure completed as it is really important. Also, when the ward is busy we appreciate that it can be made more difficult for the procedure to be completed so I am glad the 3 nurses named were able to move you to allow that to happen. I hope that the result of the sleep study is such that your son does not require further treatment.

I will make sure that your comments are fed back to the staff involved.

many thanks for taking the time to provide feedback

Kirstine
