My husband is a diabetic and just been referred here for his cancer care. The registrar who saw us on Monday to run us through everything was looking at notes as we sat there don't think they really knew what they were doing after answering some questions my husband asked what would happen if they cannot operate to which we were told well it will get you eventually.
Then Thursday was the pet scan . Again wasn't told he could not have anyone sit with him while he waited for the radiative dye to get into hi system he was low blood sugar and told to wait 20 mins then take a glucose sweet he was never checked on from the minute they put the radioactive injection in until they came to get him for his scan a total of 1 and 1/2 hours alone frightened and worried and being diabetic anything could have happened surely the risk of me being affected by radioactive fluid is very low . He wanted me to sit with him but was told I couldnt and to leave a diabetic alone like that is just not on.
Tomorrow we are just getting a phone all to be sold whether the cancer has spread. I am totally disgusted at the very low compassion and caring level of this hospital and have serious worries about him being treated here. This is a worrying enough time without this
