"Had nice weekend break"

About: Colchester General Hospital

Was in hospital Thursday 29th October until Sunday 1st December. Had bowel cancer surgery & was on Early Release Program. Didn't realise that whilst you had a bed it was not intended to be used. After operation arrived on Mersea Ward around 20.30. Pestered the night staff for cups of tea & jugs of water all through the night. Had first breakfast at 4.30 am.. Thanks to the two people who looked after me so well. Thought I was having bed changed with me in it before 9am. The nurse had other ideas & I was in chair in no time. Even though my door was always open they always said Knock - Knock on their way in, nice touch. All the nurses I had contact with cared about your welfare rather then just doing a job, well done all of you. On discharge day a nurse had five of us to sort out paperwork etc. I was last but we left at 1.00pm, busy person but well done. They even had to assist someone who became unwell, along with three others. Why does Colchester General get bad reviews, I really don't know. I & my family have always been dealt with in an efficient but caring manner. My mother has a procedure on the 3rd December & she should be on Mesea Ward to recover, she will be in good hands.
