"Have gotten to know the carers really well"

About: East Ayrshire Council Care At Home & Housing Support Service (South Locality)

(as a service user),

I started having carers at home about 1 year ago after I had spent a long period of time in hospital. It is the same carers who come every day; one person covers the mornings and one person the afternoons.

The carers come four times a day;

- In the morning they help me get washed and dressed and get my breakfast

- They come back to give me lunch

- They come at dinner time

- They come in the evening to help me get ready for bed

The service is very good. The carer comes early if I have the day centre to make sure I’m ready on time but I can have a long lie on other days. A long lie is lovely, especially on a Sunday. The carers are very friendly, I’ve gotten to know them really well and can relate to them better than my family at times.

Dear ellis1

Thank you very much for the comments you gave about the care at home service you receive. I'm pleased to note that the staff offer you a degree of flexibility and that you are able to get a long lie when it suits you.

I'm glad to hear that that you find the staff friendly and it is the same small group of staff that visit you all of the time. Being able to relate to the care staff is so important.

I plan to share the comments you gave with the care at home staff. Your feedback is very much appreciated.

Kind Regards, Marie
