On the 19/11/2015 at 0900hrs I set off happily for my 10:15am appointment, arriving at the Hospital around 9:20am, entering the car park it was soon evident that there was absolutely nowhere to park and so many cars facing same problem, I continued to drive around for 30 minutes then decided that although I have been waiting for my respiratory appointment for 6 months I would give up and go home. My wife rang the outpatients dept. to explain the problems I have had and they informed her that one of your car parks has been closed off due to a mobile X-Ray machine using it. I have to say I am so very disappointed that I have been unable to get to my appointment having left home so early this morning to attend.

Dear Mr Smith

I’m sorry you couldn’t find a parking space at the hospital and for the inconvenience this will have caused you.

We know that people can have difficulties finding a space, especially on the busiest days – Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Altogether we provide 186 car parking spaces at the hospital, including 11 places for disabled people. We currently have a mobile diagnostic trailer and generator in the car park because we are doing refurbishment work in the hospital, including installing a new x-ray machine. This is taking up 16 parking spaces. In anticipation of the extra pressures we thought this would create we looked to create additional parking spaces on the site, but sadly this isn’t possible.

We apologise again both to Mr Smith visitor and to other people that might similarly face problems.
