"It was like staying in a hotel!"

About: Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre

(as a relative),

My husband was in for a procedure at the Beatson. We had travelled a long way. The nurses could not do enough. My husband was kept informed throughout the process.

I have nothing but praise for all of the staff. It was like staying in a hotel! Thank you all.

I work in a small team in NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde which seeks to involve patients and carers in the work of the NHS. The biggest part of my role is in managing feedback projects across the Board area, one of which is Patient Opinion. It is my job to give our patients and carers the opportunity to give us feedback, and to make sure that this is passed to the right people to help us improve the services we provide.

Dear vale572,

Thank you so much for taking the time to write to us about your husband's recent experience at the Beatson. We hear all the time that one of the things patients value the most is being kept in the loop about what is happening to them, which you have shown here again. It is also really lovely to get such great feedback about the staff who looked after our patients, and I know that they really appreciate it.

I hope that your husband has recovered, or is well on his way to recovery after his procedure. Thanks again for getting in touch.

Best Wishes,

Lorna
