I took my daughter to A and E when she had her finger badly bent back at school. At 10.30pm at night she was X-rayed and we were told she had fractured it. I admit i didn't hear back from the hospital the following day as i was told i would but understand the orthopaedic team were on a training day. I was called the following day to be informed she needed an op and had been booked in for saturday (4 days after her accident). We arrived on saturday morning and everything ran like clockwork. The team were incredible throughout and were very good at trying to reassure my daughter who was having a general anaesthetic and became very scared about the whole process. The anaesthetist, surgeon, recovery staff etc were brilliant and i am just so impressed that we have a free health service that can provide all this care and attention within a week. We have since been back to have it checked and again the consultant was incredibly kind and patient with my daughter as was the plaster nurse who rebound her finger. All in all, i was expecting a poor experience but cannot fault it or compliment the staff enough. I am delighted with the care, expertise, attention and kindness that we have been shown.
