I have nothing but praise for the care I received at FP Hospital.
The staff were professional and kind.
The planned vascular surgery and then emergency coronary treatment were performed to a high standard - and, in the case of the latter, quicker than I would have believed possible.
However, it was all soured by the many many hours wait for discharge, after being medically told I could go.
Why oh why is there this dreadfully long wait for pharmacy to supply one's discharge drugs?
Surely, it should be possible to have them get the drugs ready ahead of the actual pronouncement of yea or nay from the doctors.
As it was we patients sit around in discomfort for hours, deprived of our beds etc.
Where is the patient care in that?
The pharmacy has clearly no concern for patients welfare at all.
The staff on the ward seemed resigned to it, but it surely can be better.
I was told by patients in the know (it happened to one patients's mother) that it can take till 7pm and one may be deprived of a bed from 10am! FPH has been tasked with improving Wexham Park and Heatherwood by the govt.
Surely you can get your own discharge arrange better organised.
